Quarter 3

Our focus this quarter will be on analyzing the novel Call It Courage by Armstrong Sperry.  We will be reading the novel in class together and exploring the following ideas:
-the lead character's evolution
-the cultural and historical context
-fear & courage
-the physical setting of the book
-the skills Armstrong Sperry uses to make his story interesting

Students will be creating a final project to show their understanding of these ideas, as well as writing an original poem that demonstrates the writing skills they have learned from Armstrong Sperry.

Quarter 3 Overview

Students are responsible for mastering (meeting or exceeding the standard) all of the skills listed on this Quarter 3 Benchmark list.  All students keep track of their grades on this document in their classroom portfolio.
